Anna is going nautical... She and Juan are signed up for renewing their Maritime Captains' licenses. They want to get back to boating - but they are 100% adamant that boating is only fun when you are thoroughly trained and familiar with all aspects of boating safety and operation. In fact, you'd be close to crazy to boat around the Bay Area waters where weather and currents can turn on a dime.
But can you imagine how much fun it will be for them to explore the Sacramento Delta or navigate around the San Pablo and San Francisco Bays? And what a great alternative for Anna';s summer office locale.
Did you ever wonder what it was, exactly, that pulled someone into residential real estate sales?
For Lorissa, it was because she has always had a passion for fashion and trends. Homes can be just as much of a fashion statement as the latest hemline. And some of the features of a home that were all the rage just ten years ago can be a big drawback to buyers now.
Color can be a big factor in determining if a home is "dated" - For many years, Pantone came out with a new "It Color" annually. But now, all the paint manufacturers come out with their own "Color of the Year." We took a look at what colors made the grade this year, and some of them are so luscious that you may want to rush to your nearest paint store to give one of your accent walls a "au currant" splash of color!
You can see a complete gallery of all the wonderful “It” colors for 2019 - and how they look in actual room settings at You can get the complete gallery of all these luscious new color trends at HGTV's website... https://www.hgtv.com/design/news-and-trends/2019-colors-of-the-year-pictures
A Slice of Solano County
As realtors, we serve the greater North Bay area throughout Solano and Sonoma Counties. Each newsletter, we’d like to feature one of the local areas, and this month, we wanted to highlight One House Bakery in Benicia. Hannalee Pervan’s bakery is fabulous! She’s got quite a background (12 years!) in pastry and baking... including a very successful stint at Bouchon Bakery in Yontville that included baking all the bread for the famous French Laundry restaurant in Napa.
Want to feel like you’ve died and gone to pastry heaven? Try one of their beignet bites... yum! With cozy seating where you can watch the busy beehive of baking and pastry making, enjoy a glass of craft brew or wine with a savory sandwich or bite of delicious pastry.
And just wait until the weather mellows – you are going to love their cozy back patio. One House Bakery is worth the drive to Benicia.
And, while you’re there in Benicia, take a stroll down to the waterfront or over to some of the artist studios or antique stores. Benicia is worth the visit!
|Featured Pet Adoptee of the Month
We are committed dog folk, and we are even more committed to helping rescues find forever homes. Both of us have rescues and we wouldn’t trade any of our adoptees for all the pedigrees at Westminster.
We are going to do our part by featuring one of the many rescues at Martina Animal Rescue here in Solano County. And, even if you cannot offer one of our featured adoptees a forever home, perhaps you can help by contributing to M.A.R.’s on-going expenses to defray their costs for veterinary care, medicines and food.
Meet Odin! He was found on the side of the road, very injured after being hit by a car. He was down but not out… and after extensive medical care, a few surgeries, and armloads of T.L.C., he is about ready to find his forever home. Martina Animal Rescue has shouldered about $8000 in medical costs for Odin, so, if you can't adopt him, maybe you'd like to help off-set some of the expenses of giving him a second chance.https://www.facebook.com/donate/513985892457456/ We are both committed dog people, and even though we are focused on tending to YOUR housing needs, we are just as committed to helping rescued canine pals find their forever homes. Studies show that people who own pets live longer, healthier, more satisfied lives. So adopting a rescue dog is a win-win situation for everyone involved.
This month’s Coupon
As we mentioned earlier, both of us are avid dog lovers. And we love everything about our dogs... except, maybe bath time... We’re not sure if it’s the same for you, but usually, when either one of us finishes washing our dogs, we have to spend an equal amount of time cleaning up the mess from cleaning up our dogs!
We found a great solution! Rub-a-Dub Dog Bath in American Canyon. Besides having raised wash tubs that are a darn sight more convenient than torquing your arms over the side of a home bath tub, Rub a Dub Dob Bath has flexible shower hoses, non slip mats – for you AND your dog, all of the towels, and powerful, fast blow dryers. They will even help you clip your dog’s nails. And – this is the BEST part.... When you’re done, you just walk away...
Ahhhhh..... what could be better than that? A discount, of course! Our good friends at Rub A Dub Dog Wash are giving our clients and friends a limited time $3 coupon. Just clip this out and present it to the cashier when it is time to pay.
